ABOUT USThe Midlands Ex Boxers Association (MEBA) is a benevolent organisation formed with the purpose of generating funds for ex boxers and families whether amateur, professional, male or female or anyone with an involvement in boxing should they find themselves in need of help.MEBA also assist other charities and good causes as and when their help is required and funds are available. There have been several varied social and fund raising events as wide ranging as meals out, when an entire restaurant is booked for the night, to celebrity shows featuring stars many of which are members, a ladies night and an annual golf day.In the celebrity shows the stars talk and are questioned about their lives and careers. In the past we have had: members Richie Woodhall, Pat Cowdell, Ken Buchanan MBE, Earnie Shavers, John Coyle, Tony "Banger" Walsh, John H. Stracey and Dave "Boy" Green.Others who have appeared include Terry Spinks MBE, Sammy McArthey, Jane Couch, Charlie Magri and Colin Dunne.Normally included in these shows are a comic, an autographed programme and a personal professionally taken photograph of the guest with the stars of the show, this is included in the ticket price which is normally £10. Anyone interested in joining MEBA, offering sponsorship or putting on a show can get further details from the Secretary to whom all correspondence should be addressed.
